Helping those who once served our country find safety, dignity and a place to rebuild their lives.
For most of us, having somewhere to call home is something we rarely give a second thought to. A front door to lock, a warm bed to sleep in and somewhere to feel safe.
But for some former members of our Armed Forces, that basic security is something they have lost.
Leaving military service can bring challenges that many of us will never fully understand. For some veterans, those challenges can lead to homelessness, isolation and a struggle to find their feet again in civilian life.
That’s where UK Homes 4 Heroes Pride & Passion (UKH4H) is making a genuinely life-changing difference.
More Than Just a Roof Over Their Heads
Founded by Jimmy Jukes MBE, UK Homes 4 Heroes is dedicated to helping homeless former members of the British Armed Forces.
Its outreach teams work directly with veterans who are homeless, rough sleeping or sofa surfing, providing practical essentials such as food, clothing and sleeping bags, alongside advice and support to help them move towards a more secure future.
Their work goes beyond emergency assistance. The charity understands that finding somewhere to live is just the beginning of rebuilding a life.
Through its Elkins Day Care Centre in Rotherhithe, veterans can access food, social activities, IT facilities and practical support in a welcoming environment.
The charity also provides free respite breaks through its dedicated holiday retreats, giving veterans and their families an opportunity to relax, reconnect and enjoy some much-needed time together.
It’s about restoring more than accommodation. It’s about restoring dignity, confidence and a sense of belonging.
Why Their Work Matters
Homelessness can happen for many reasons. Relationship breakdowns, financial pressures, mental health difficulties and the challenges of transitioning into civilian life can all contribute.
For veterans experiencing these circumstances, having someone who understands their background and is prepared to offer practical help can make all the difference.
UK Homes 4 Heroes is there to meet people where they are, without judgement, helping them take the first steps towards a better future.
And importantly, its support recognises that when a veteran struggles, their family often feels the impact too.
How Veterans Raffle Helps Make a Difference
At Veterans Raffle, our mission is to help organisations supporting our Armed Forces community access the funding they need to continue and develop their work.
UK Homes 4 Heroes is exactly the kind of organisation we’re proud to support.
Through our fundraising platform, supporters can nominate UK Homes 4 Heroes as their preferred good cause, helping generate ongoing financial support for the charity.
For just £10 a month, supporters are entered into our monthly cash prize draws while also helping fund the organisations making a difference to veterans’ lives.
Regular donations can help charities plan ahead, maintain essential services and reach more people who need their support.
Whether that’s contributing towards outreach work, practical resources or the facilities that provide veterans with a safe and welcoming place, every contribution helps build a stronger support network.
Together Supporting Those Who Serve
At Veterans Raffle, we don’t take the credit for the incredible work these charities do. The dedicated teams, volunteers and people on the ground deserve that recognition.
Our role is to help provide the financial support and awareness that allows them to keep going.
Those who have served our country deserve more than a thank you. They deserve to know that, if life takes an unexpected turn, someone will be there to help them.
We’re proud to stand behind UK Homes 4 Heroes and its commitment to ensuring that veterans are not left without hope of a place to call home.
You can support their work by joining Veterans Raffle and selecting UK Homes 4 Heroes as your nominated good cause.
Together, we can support those who have served and help make sure nobody is left behind.
