The Veterans Forge is set at the foot of the Purbeck Hills near Corfe Castle in Dorset. It was established to allow forces veterans the opportunity to have a break from everyday life and enjoy a relaxed rural location whilst being given much-needed help and support.

They offer veterans the chance to spend time at the forge to learn Blacksmithing. In groups of 4 to 6 they support individuals on projects to aid increased skills. They can accommodate half-day sessions right up to weekly courses and accommodation is arranged locally too.

A positive mental attitude is encouraged to help maintain psychological wellbeing. Their aim is to forge people as well as iron. The ability to make objects out of metal and to take the finished article home is one of the achievements of each person’s visit.

Fundraising is a vital part of their daily activities. They encourage people to make donations, be it financial, in materials or donating machinery/tools etc. They regularly sell items that have been handmade by veterans and undertake bespoke commission works too.
